The US federal procurement AI training data squeeze

US federal procurement is implementing new clauses that mandate disclosure of AI system operational mechanisms, rapid incident reporting, and, crucially, restrictions on using government data for training supplier AI models, alongside limitations on foreign AI systems. This creates a significant constraint for AI vendors, as their ability to leverage extensive government datasets for model improvement is severely curtailed. Simultaneously, there's intensified demand from a major operator and limited partners for continuous, auditable evidence of AI controls.
